Searchable School-Funding Comparison Tool

MBAE created this searchable tool using newly-available school-level funding data to enable users to compare spending within and across districts, determine whether resources are allocated fairly, and examine the relationship between school spending and student achievement.

Under Massachusetts’ school funding formula, school districts receive a fixed amount of money for each student they serve. Recognizing that students from low-income backgrounds, learning English, or with disabilities often have greater needs, our formula provides more money per student for these. Using this tool, you can examine how student need and school resources are related in your school district.

You can also examine the relationship between spending and outcomes and use the filters to compare student achievement in schools serving similar populations and spending about the same.
