July 7, 2025Apprenticeship Degrees are a promising new strategy states are leveraging to meet critical workforce needs, strengthen talent pipelines, and create more paths to economic mobility. The model combines on the job training with classroom instruction allowing students to earn the post-secondary degrees/credentials they need to become nurses, surgical technicians, teachers, and more — all while earning a paycheck.
In the second session of MBAE’s new member-exclusive Lunch & Learn webinar series, Marjorie Ringrose, Director of Education at the Smith Family Foundation, highlighted the model’s impact in states like Colorado, Wisconsin, and Texas. Marjorie also described the growing Apprenticeship Degree landscape in Massachusetts and the pivotal role employers must play to enable the program’s success.
