MBAE is working with educators, including those from Teach Plus, to advocate for licensure, tenure, and promotion regulations and policies based on significant professional accomplishments, and not on seat time or the accumulation of continuing education credit coursework. To recruit and retain highly skilled teachers, the system must offer career ladders for master and advanced teachers to apply their expertise to solve problems and increase the effectiveness of other teachers.

MBAE is part of the TeachStrong campaign, which “brings together teachers unions, teacher voice organizations, and education reform, civil rights, and education policy leaders to make modernizing and elevating the teaching profession the top education policy issue of 2016.”
